RAVI RIVA Café
.
An army marches on its stomach. Let’s start the trip at the riverside cafe “Ravi Riva” located on the Mae Klong River. It’s a light, vintage British-style coffee shop. There are a lot of photography corners for photo lovers. I can say that for sure. The shop is divided into 2 zones: the greenhouse and waterfront.

For the greenhouse zone, there are about 3 houses; each house is decorated with various kinds of ornamental flowers. There are also a variety of collectibles, including ceramics, mugs, and vintage dishes, which are beautifully displayed.

The waterfront zone, which is next to the Mae Klong River, is separated from the shop and across the road to the other side. It’s a photo corner that the store has prepared for you. There are wooden chairs, a cradle, and lattice that we can go to sit and soak our feet as well. I suggest that you dress in style, as it’s really beautiful in every angle.

The menu offers a variety including Thai food, Western food, fast food, snacks, and bakery. Also, drinks are served with each menu. You can choose as you like.

Mallika City, 1905 A.D.

Mallika is the retro city reflecting the past Siamese lifestyle during the reign of King Chulalongkorn the Great (Rama V) (1905 A.D.). It displays the people’s way of life, various houses, as well as ancient food and sweets for us to taste as well. 1905 was also the year that slavery was abolished in Thailand.

Within the city of Mallika, there are many interesting points for us to see. Whether it’s a shopping district, Saphan Han, City Tower, Ruean Khaha Bodi, Ruean Diao, Ruean Mu, Ruean Phae Floating House, Kitchen, Jasmine Garden, and story room.

In the Mallika shopping district, “Holed Coins” are used as a medium for exchanging products and services in the city, which was the currency used in ancient times in both the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya Eras.

The highlight that can’t be missed is wearing traditional Thai clothes. To enjoy the atmosphere, tourists can rent Thai clothes at the Thai costume rental service point, or they can personalise the Thai clothes by themselves. We will see the merchants in Mallika dressed in Thai clothes in every shop. Even the language used to communicate is part of this atmosphere.

In addition, this place also serves a traditional Thai food buffet with both lunch and dinner.
For the evening, there will be a Thai dance performance as well. If anyone buys a dinner ticket and is watching the show, you’ll see the atmosphere like this.

The For Rest Resort
.
For this evening, we travel to The For Rest Resort located at Sai Yok District, on the River Kwai. If anyone is tired from work, and if you want to relax and chill, here is also an interesting option among the forest and stream. The atmosphere is very good, and you can have more fun with a gang of friends.

There are 3 types of raft accommodation, which are a basic room, suite, room and VIP room that all have a private balcony. This includes the net cradle, which is the highlight of this waterfront raft, with prices starting from 1,200 – 1,500 Baht. This price includes dinner and breakfast (buffet) and rafting.
.
There is also a wide range of facilities; such as, swimming pool, a store for personal items and snacks.

For the highlight, don’t miss a popular activity like wet rafting. I can say that anyone who comes here, shouldn’t miss this fun. Otherwise, you haven’t reached The For Rest Resort. For rafting, tourists must wear life jackets for safety each time. The raft will be dragged along the river, and it takes approximately 30 minutes to the point where tourists can have fun diving together or swimming back to the resort.

There are 3 rounds for rafting.
1st Round: 3.30 p.m.
2nd Round: 4.30 p.m.
3rd Round: 5.30 p.m.

The atmosphere along the way is very good. Wherever you look, it’s fresh. You can travel throughout the year, but if you go during the rainy season, there’s a morning mist beautiful as winter.

Nam Tok Railway Station
.
Stop for a chic photo shoot at “Nam Tok Railway Station”, formerly known as “Tha Sao Station”, which comes from the name of the village. It was built in the period after World War 2, which changed its name Tha Sao Station to be a waterfall station. This was because it’s name was tied to Tha Sao Railway Station of Uttaradit province. Corresponding with the nearby locations of the Nam Tok Railway Station is Nam Tok Sai Yok Noi (Nam Tok Khao Phang), therefore known as Nam Tok until now.

If anyone wants to visit Nam Tok Sai Yok Noi, you can travel by train from Bangkok and get off at the waterfall station, which is approximately 1 kilometre from the waterfall.
.
Ban Tha Sao, Mu 3, Tha Sao sub-district, Sai Yok district, Kanchanaburi province
Open all day every day.

Krasae Cave
.
We continue travelling to “Krasae Cave”. This is a part of the Death Railway, which is considered as Unseen Thailand. The railway curves along the steep cliffs and traverses along the Kwai Noi River. It was once considered as the most horrible place, but at the same time, it is the most beautiful place as well.

This cave used to be a resting p-lace for prisoners of war when building the Death Railway from Thailand to Burma (Myanmar) during World War 2. The internal atmosphere is airy, and there is a sacred Buddha image enshrined in the interior. This area is where the hardest part of the railway was built due to the curved path along the hill that has been dubbed the “Death Curve”. In addition, near the Krasae Cave, there are shops and restaurants for travellers to shop and try many tasty options.

Giant Chamchuri Tree
.
Another landmark of Kanchanaburi, the “Giant Chamchuri Tree” is a popular attraction that tourists must stop by to visit and take a photo. It is more than 100 years old, and takes up to 10 people to surround the tree. It is now difficult to find such a large tree. In addition, surrounding bridges have been built so as not to step on the roots of the Chamchuri tree.
.
Mu 5, Ban Kasikam, Ko Samrong sub-district Mueang district, Kanchanaburi province
Open all day every day.

The Bridge of the River Kwai
.
Next place is “The Bridge of the River Kwai ” which if anyone comes to Kanchanaburi and doesn’t come here, then they haven’t been to Kanchanaburi. This is because this area is a landmark of Kanchanaburi and an important historical place.

The Bridge was built during World War 2 by the Japanese army who recruited prisoners of war to build a strategic railway to be a route to Burma (Myanmar). The route had to cross the Kwai Yai River, so the bridge was built.

The Bridge over the River Kwai took only 1 month to build. Today, it is regarded as a symbol of peace. If anyone comes here in the evening after sunset, you will see the atmosphere like this.
.
Maenam Kwai Road, Tha Makham sub-district, Mueang district, Kanchanaburi province

BRAME Tea & Taste
.
Baramee Tea & Taste, the hottest cafe in this period, must be here. I can assure you that everyone will definitely like it for its mostly beautiful views. Looking out, you can see the River Kwai surrounded by abundant green mountains. There is a variety of menus including beverages and bakery to order.

The shop is divided into 2 zones, which are Indoor zone. The shop emphasises white and has been decorated with clear glass so that you can see the outside view. The interior is decorated with white and pink flowers along the ceiling and table. The atmosphere is like sitting in a flower garden.

The outdoor zones are also equally popular. This zone is divided into 2 floors, where you can choose to sit comfortably. There are also a lot of photo angles to choose from; such as, a cradle, lattice, hanging leg, and rattan hammock. Women will really appreciate this. Don’t forget to prepare your accessories and make a bang.

Another highlight of the store is we can wait to see the train from Nam Tok Railways Station running pass from the corner of the shop. It can be said that that everyone has been waiting for the moment.
